DoubleCross

I didn’t give this print a title until after I had completed it. Then, quite suddenly, the title just came to me.

A “double cross” usually implies something sinister — a betrayal or a deception. But when I looked at the two crosswalks emerging across these fields of color, I saw something entirely different: a DoubleCross.

Sometimes a title is planned. Other times, the artwork just tells you what it wants to be called.

The very first print in this edition hangs in my living room. I’ve “floated” it inside a white, glossy wooden frame, and I have to admit — it looks fabulous. It’s bold and striking, and the colors seem to pull together the other colors in the room.

Perhaps that’s one of the pleasures of living with art: Every day, you get to see it in a slightly different way.
